Cheers for the advice guys, just thought I'd mentioned that I've purchased a pair of hovi-mix tips today off ebay, should arrive in a few days, hoping to do more filling and sanding on my lid this weekend to try and get it ready for a primer coat. I 'm kind of in a dilemma of were to go with my lid, the ANH vibe would be cool but I've got a feeling i could do a more authentic (501 Potential,should I choose that path ) tx black ops version as there appears to a bit more...

As Steve has said Public events like London Expo, Mem etc.. you can wear anything as part of the public, 501st have strict requirements due to events they get. I think there will always be elitism in all hobbies but you are so right, we are all fans, so just tell the elists to go forth and multiply ;-) Main thing is to have fun.

To troop with the 501st you will need to get your costume cleared ,so screen accuracy is pretty much essential. Saying that there are other groups around too who may not have the clearance process . TBH they are the biggest and when LFL need costumers they come to them for their accuracy so it just depends on personal preference really. Many events out there are anything goes , london expo for example had many people turning up in all manner of home made costumes and it was great to see some...

Hi there, Thanks for info regarding brows. Being new to all of this, I was wondering if trooping was only acceptable for 501 members only or is it acceptable for guys to hang out in there gear that might not be 100% screen accurate. I'm asking this because I was briefly involved in WW2 re enactment and At times could be very elitist i.e people taking the P*** !! out of your kit. My philosophy is that we all same the same interest and enthusiasm but we all have different budgets. Cheers...

You get the accurate rubber brow trim from Seals Direct the part number is US 52 and you can buy it by the foot

Just come across this forum, looks cool. Thought I'd say hi.
I've just started putting together a fiberglass hero bucket, I've wanted a stormtrooper lid for years and I've finally took the plunge. Armor to follow with a bit of luck ,thats if the misses doesn't mind. It's a bit of a mess at the moment as I'm cutting of the existing pre moulded fbreglass brow in order to attach a lower hero style rubber brow. Would any of you guys have any idea where I could...

I see there are Master Replicas, Battlespec, FX and so on - I'd need quite a large helmet that would also have room for me to wear my glasses underneath. I'm on a bit of a budget as well - say max £100

Any tips/advice you can give me? Where exactly do you buy these helmets from??

Canvas you can get cut to measure and is relatively cheap to buy, get some Snap fastners and a snap fastner tool

Its really not that hard to do mate, have a go at it youll suprise yourself and feel better about it.............. trust me

Thanks Supa, it was a pain to buildbut no pain no back pack!
And yea, I forgot to add the four black shot gun shells on the top side unit
They were made and ready to add, but in rush to pose for the photos........

That looks fantastic well done on the Back pack and although its not entirely accurate who cares the anul 501st need to remember its not really real, youve done a great job, the imperial cog is a nice touch too..

i look forward to seeing the rest of this come together if you need any advice just let us know, youve taken a big step into the dirty world
