Posts: 4 04/30/08 15:02:58	well here it goes as some of u know im scratch building a M1 garand ive posted my progress on the ukg board but ive thought ill show on here aswell heres wat i started i drew out a template on paper then i transfered this on to the board as you can see the board is thin so wat i did was nailed another board underneath this gave me the thickness i need the nxt thing i did was use a jig saw to cut it out wat ive done was took apart a m14 and cut the working parts down to size and so i ended up with this more progress will follow

If its solid timber you might want to put a little wood glue between the 2 boards as well, if it starts to moveor warp , as wood often does in different temperatures, the nails may not hold it together well enough. Posts: 5 05/01/08 13:34:33	the wood is 2 shelfs i couldnt get wat i wanted so they had some shelfing for sale so i brought 2 pieces nice and solid
