I may actually mould both...I'm waiting on a deliver of some silicone an brass filler as I may be cold casting the respirator badges instead of painting
them...I may also give the lawgiiver 2 a once over with the paint sparyer again and remove the eagles from the side and cold cast them too...Mind you I may
just paint them as it's a touch cold in the old shop if you know what i mean..had two monkey's asking if i could weld brass yesterday knocking at the
door

I hate it when monkeys do that ! If you paint them Martin give that plasticote metallic paint a try. They do a gold finish as well . Have to prep and prime it
so its real smooth but tis worth the effort. It takes a few days to fully dry though so keep it in the warm and this will speed it up.

Bugger plasikote, I used that before and the badge went all old brass on me if you recall...It's what i used o the last dredd lid badges...I will be
running some nice tamiya gold through my brush to give it a go...Once the suckers are cast that is.

Its funny stuff mate and if there is any greasy marks on the primer or its cellulose primer it will react with it !! Worth persevering with it as you can get
some great results with it. Also it helps if you smooth the primer with a fine wet and dry like 1200 grit then coat with black gloss. this gives the chrome
effect more depth. the final coat need only a misting to just cover enough to get the effect. If you use too much plasticote it takes ages to dry and also the
finish is not as good as a thinner coat. Will post up the pics of the padme blaster soon as its finished and you can see the results

If I thought it was worth going for I'd be using some of the ALsa corp mirrachrome stuff as a mate in the FX biz over the pond has used it to great effect.
Cool pait system and the effects are eye popoping. There is another thing I have been looking at and it's like a chrome/gold leaf thing. I watched a demo
of it at the locak toy/hobby store the other week and the results were great...not too sure who it would hold up to the rough and tumble I'd be putting it
through but for dispaly peieces with little handling it would work wonders.

Well I wanted to wait until the dust had settled after the NSC event to put up pics of the finished lid...I heavily weathered the street judge version...I always thought that if the Dredd man himself was on the go for 23 hours 50 minutes a day with only 10 minutes in the sleep machine. His lid was bound to get all beat up and chipped and or the odd scar from upholding the law. Oh and the last one si a size comparisson with anohter of my scratch helmet builds.

I'm looking into making an eagle too to go with mine and Sean's costumes we've been working on. Thinking of using a mesh frame and adding clay to
sculpt one to make a mold from. Be interested to see how you do yours
