I used Foamed PVC aka sintra for the wings and the feathers...Fairly cheap and very easy to work with....As the for eagle that was out the same stuff . then I covered it with some grey epoxy...Still needs a fair bit of filling and then sanding.. The feathers are all individually articulated...unlike the movie one where only a couple of layers we articulated...Didn't like the movie costume too much bu the shoulder armour was about the best bit...As I prefereed a more workable/realistic approach..I tried the shoulder mounted armour but it was a pain to lkeep in one place.
Here's a 3d Render I did of the feather articualtion...apparently it's a better design than the movie one.. can't comment myself on that, but this way it does mean that you gain a great deal more movement from the shoulder and arm region and means you can do the typical lifting of the arm to the side with out the whole shebang moving up and obscuring your eyeline. Still very much a work in progress. But I think if the work I've done on the comic lid is how things turn out I'll be a happy chappy.
