My new Dredd bucket , raw casting courtesy of mav ....cheers matey
So far I have sanded the bejesuss out of it then layed up inside and some of outside with P40 type fibreglass reinforced filler to thicken sides. More sanding then a coat of body filler mist cated when dry with matt black to show any low points, fill again then sand smooth as poss with various grades. then heavy coat of grey primer

Your gun is looking impressive tangod fett, used some good solid materials and built it in sections which is a lot easier than carving one piece, looking
forward to when it's finished. There is a base gun underneath my extra additions, it's the Predator Playstation gun. I initially bought the gun a few
months ago to turn into the 'movie' version Lawgiver but decided in the end that I preffered the comic look. I used softwood for the magazine and the
piece along the side underneath the nameplate. I used MDF for the curved section and (as a good tip, pardon the pun) found using felt tip pens a great way of
merging the colours from Red to Yellow to Red for the bullet selector section. I tried acrylic paint but found it was too messy, clumpy and just didn't
blend the colours right. Let me know if you find a better way.

Good tip with the felt tip
Not sure which way i am going yet but i am thinking of making a 2 part cast from this so i can make it hollow and maybe add some basic lighting inside. Started on a MK1 as well based on the early Ian Gibson cutaway design , not happy with the curved side though so i am going to re-do that another way ,I want it to have the 2 mag configuration as well with some magnets in the mag or something
Hows the rogue trooper coming along by the way , lookin forward to seeing that one . In memory of Graham Campbell

Love your MK1 gun too, I know how you feel about the curve, it's drawn a funny shape in the comics too. I plan to make another MK2 and hollow also so I can
fit it with electronics. I haven't started any of the Rogue Trooper stuff i'm afraid, just finishing off making a workshop in the garage to make it
easier for me to work. Look forward to seeing your guns when they are finished. Hope to start Rogue's stuff soon, will keep you posted!
