Hi Guys, just seen Tony's post about new projects, so I thought I'd post this...I started this towards the end of last year.
Main shape cut from one and a half mm styrene
This is the start of adding some strengthening tubing and stuff
I've added more framework and some cabinet lights from ikea. A friend of a friend made a circuit for me to knock the 12 volt ikea lights down to around 3 volts, so I could connect the headlight LEDs.
A few ribs added
More ribs...
These are the panels that go on the mandibles, all the notches cut with a knife one at a time.
Panels stuck on
Beginnings of the skinning
All four on top, it's the same on the belly.
Card mock up of the docking corridors
Starting on the undercarriage bays
Boxing in the rear bay
A front view
This is about up to date now. The cockpit tube was a swine to cut, the walls of the tubing are really thick. I thought it wouldn't be easy but it was worse. Anyway I'm glad that bits done now.
Let me know what you think,...still along way to go with it, it's a challenge though..
