Thanks for putting this thread up (to be truthful it had been something I'd thought about but the last couple of weeks have been insane at work). Future projects for the GB outfits include a more realistic belt and ghost trap. For the trap I'm going to be using SG1star's plans from the excellent www.gbprops.com to hopefully reproduce something like the following: -
SG1Star's Finished Ghost Trap I will keep the board appraised as to progress. All being well the Proton Packs (at least one of them) should be able to make Collectormania in a couple of weeks. "So that's it? Two hail mary's and don't shoot any more civilians?"

Hi all,
am thinking of starting this project too. Any thoughts on best place to source the kahki flightsuit? US seems best. USCAV or something similar, perhaps. What are your experiences ordering from the US? Thinking of shipping costs etc. Thoughts on a postcard please. Foxy |

As with most costumes the cost goes up the more authentic and canon you want to get. For the kit myself and Neophyl were wearing at Memorabila, it cost approximately 400 each (including both Proton Pack and Jumpsuit). The Proton Packs were custom made using plans available from www.gbprops.com and the jumpsuits were the CWU-27/P flightuit (same model as in the movie) and they (and cheaper alternatives) are from www.flightsuits.com/uniform.html. The costumes are still not complete with a Ghost Trap and hopefully the utility belt next to be researched and tackled.
As for buying stuff from the states, I've never had a problem <touching wood (hard to do with MFI furniture)>, I've ordered mainly from flightsuits, US Cavalry, ebay and a few other places. "So that's it? Two hail mary's and don't shoot any more civilians?"

The components to my GB uniform are slowly coming together. Am waiting the imminent arrival of a kahki flightsuit from the US. Just need to know who in the UK could produce the name/ chest badge (black background with thin red writing). Any suggestions?

If you can pop up a few pics (I know roughly what they look like but like accuracy best as poss) and dimensions of black backing and hieght of letters if poss, I can then have a chat with my Mum who has an Embriodery machine, I do not forsee too much problem as she's done many different things with the grandkids names etc on, the main thing I'd want to make sure is the backing looks right.

Well, my GB pack is slowly starting to take shape..........yep, I too have been bitten by the GB bug!!!!
One thing that I'm having trouble with (same as Foxy), is sourcing Spectrum (Ribbon) cables!!!! Can they be found in the UK?? Any ideas, folks? Chris TD0617 (as well as part-time Ghostbuster!) |

Chris, the only rainbow ribbon cable I managed to find was actually from Maplins in the end. While its not a stock item alot of the stores have some in the back still
)Its also not 100% accurate to the type of ribbon cable used on the original props. If you want the actual stuff then you will have to get it sent over from the US. Ask on the GB section of ASAP. There was someone there selling it awhile ago. Phil theForce is my ally, but a kick A$$ lightsaber helps........ |
