hi folks
i will have a go at starting this one. i have had a go at making an imperial guards force pike and it turned out quite good looks great and is very light to carry. i will mail anyone who wants pics on request also i think a good choice of red in repainting the don post imperial guards helmet would be (ford rosso red ) as pointed out by a friend of mine who is also doing this. also if anyone has done this costume before or going to be working on it let us know your progress and if poss show us pics. post away ian mcmillan  |

Anyone seen the IRG helmet for sale on ThePropPalace.com ? They claim it isn't the DP version of the helmet. I was just wondering if anyone can vouch for its quality.

Jeff, I'm not sure from your post but are they from theproppalace? How does the helmet compare to the Don Post version in terms of size?

Hi J my helmet is a don post with a new lenses and respray as for size etc i could not say how they compare to the other

hm...anyone ever attempted making the helmet out of paper mache? I've taken on the project and have little to base my attmpts off of. I've had suggestions like finding an actual helmet and making a wax mold of it, but the problem is, I don't know anyone with a helmet. So, I'm going of pictures that are really indestinct and I'm having an impossible time. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions (keeping in mind that i'm a college student with a part time job - hence a very thin wallet) I'd greatly appreciate it.

When on earth are Rubies gonna release the Royal Guard costume they had on display some time ago?

Moving in several different directions with costumes and props at the moment, one of which being a Fibre Glass Royal Guard helmet for my collection, What I need to know is, does anyone know the actual shade of red that was used for this helmet ?! sorry i can't help out in the actual shade used, the shade i used for my royal guard helmet was ford rosso red from Halford's it turned out really well when finished. all i need now is the dark visor material i have a pic's of it so if you like i will mail them to you for you to have a look at as the colour look's ok IMHO Ian RPB Moderator  |

Some pic's would be great dude ! The more reference I have the better. I need to know the shade so I can mix the pigment for the gelcoat, I'm trying to get the helmet the right colour from the off so I don't have to paint it, We've got a wax at work that you mix with the gelcoat to get a really good shine to it, so once I have a colour, I can get a sample and match it, if you see what I mean.
