Block the yeses out mate too, makes for easier casting later....looks good just needs a bit of raking and smoothing. Is that oil or water clay you've gone
for there though? Oh and when you're ready to go for the plat gel casting we'll have a natter as there are ways and means of casting silicones into to
stone moulds without them getting stuck solid in them. Plaster is porous mate so you'll need to seal the mould with a special conncoction Mr G told me
about

Is oil based clay cleanclay i think its called , got it from the US a few years back and used it over again on a few projects.Yes will be filling in the eyes
before I cast it ,just wanted to get the look right first. I dont really think it needs much more smoothing as it will be covered in hair anyway and its pretty
smppth on the nose and mouth apart from the details added . Yes a pre cast chat would be very helpful mate
Will this need any release agent on it when I cast it with plaster . Oh and what sort of bandage do you use if any or will any porous cloth do to reinforce it ? In memory of Graham Campbell

I generally spray seal the clay with krystal clear and thena dust with talc, all this does is seal the clay and the talc helps prevetnt the beauty coat from
beading on the surface.
The plater bandage I use is medical grade stuff not mod roc, as often that can prove to be very trial and error as the platers its' soaked in can be brittle and prone to not fully curing. you can use good old burlap or sack cloth mate, just need to soak it and then drain it.. Your beauty or detail coat needs to be about the consistency of very runny ice cream mate. In all honesty mate, if I was you i'd do a F/G mould, it's lighter and you can bolt it togethert to make a nce seal . you could even go for an easy flow 60 or 120 or alwa s3 urethane for the mouild too. As it';s plat gel you're planning on using you won't have to worry so much about sealing the plaster to prevent it grabbin into the surface. Plus you'll be able to get a good few test pulls out before any delamination takes place in the stone mould.

Started puting the fur on my body suit
I'm using colours 14 & 27. The flash has done really weird things to them. In the flesh you can hardly see the difference

Decided to start my mask. I have gone for a paper mache base, on which to build. I then plan to make a mold and then a fibreglass under skull. Hopefully with a
movable jaw

OK, i'm stumpt
I have bught Kanekalon #27 from two different suppliers. One lot has come out light brown, the other lot has come out a light brownish ginger. Is Kanekalon meant to be interchangable ? |

I think i have it sorted. There appears to be a Kanekalon #27 Dark Golden Blonde and also a Kanekalon #27 Strawberry Blonde. The latter is, imo, the wrong
colour (just took me about $50 to figure this out
)

Ouch bet that hurt
Kanekolon is a type not a make of synthetic hair
so i guess some suppliers have their own colours, sorry to hear that mate ,too late for a refund i suppose now you have used it

Not a complete waste I hope. I am just waiting on a delivery from my local supplier, who got me the first batch of hair. Once i have my normal #27 colour, I
will blend it with the new strawberry blonde. Just got to wait a few weeks for a delivery of my original hair before i can do more :( (and i have my #4 to
start the dark sections)

Hi guys
just a thought. I plan to use Dragon Skin for my outer mask, how do i colour the lips and the nose different colours? Also, as its silicone, how can I glue the face hair on using contact adhesive? (I realy don't fancy punching the hair in through the mask) As usual, any advice would be very welcome |

You will need to get some silicone tints , one for the overall colour and one for nose and lips. I got mine from a company called mouldlife that maverick
recomended (google search ) and they very helpful lot. You can mould the base colour in with the silicone then you will need to mix 2 small amounts of
dragonskin and add the tint to each of those to use as a paint for the nose and lips.
I think Paul used superglue for attaching the hair to his dragonskin, I doubt that contact adhesive will stick to silicone and may peel off . In memory of Graham Campbell
